"Palm
Beach Florida School District Saves Taxpayers Money Through Use of
OmniForm"
-
Challenge:
- How to Reduce the Cost of Creating,
Printing, Updating and Storing Forms
-
Solution:
- The Palm Beach County, Florida School District
generates over 1,300 forms, including student evaluations, special
education plans, employment applications, purchase requisitions,
accounting reports, and food service orders. Creating, updating,
printing, stocking and distributing copies of each form was more
than a full-time job and required a large portion of a warehouse to
store the thousands of copies. Today the warehouse is virtually
empty of forms and the district's bank account is richer. Since the
district has adopted OmniForm as its standard electronic forms
authoring system back in 1998, the organization has saved over
$150,000 in forms printing costs alone. 260 paper forms have been
converted to electronic format and are available online through the
school district electronic forms web site. The District's goal is to
convert as many of the total active forms into electronic forms.
Over 12,000 teachers and administrators can download and print the
forms on a per need basis. OmniForm's AutoFiller lets them fill out
the forms electronically. No more obsolete forms. No more piles of
unused or outdated forms. OmniForm's database and the ability to
import and export information make updating the forms quick and
easy. Due to Palm Beach County's diverse population, many forms must
be translated into Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese. OmniForm
allows these translations to be instantly available with a click of
a mouse.
